What Camera Peculiarities Does iPhone 13 have?
The most anticipated update in the new iPhone 13 is the camera options. Photographers and videographers are eagerly awaiting the publication of the technical specifications that receive the new iPhone cameras. How good are the iPhone 13 cameras? Let’s figure it out together in the following article.
Two systems
The 13th generation uses two different camera systems. The iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 share the same wide-angle (main) and ultra-wide-angle camera system. And the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have three cameras: wide-angle (main), ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto.
At the same time, the modules from Pro and Pro Max were completely updated, while the iPhone 13 and Mini borrowed cameras from the 12th generation.
iPhone 13 vs iPhone 13 Max
This year, if you’re looking for an iPhone with the best camera, you won’t have to choose between the regular Pro and the big Pro Max. Both the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have the same sensors, lenses, stabilization system, and feature set. The three cameras in the new Pro cover a 6x focal length range:
- 12MP telephoto, 77mm f / 2.8.
- Ultra-wide angle 12MP, 13mm f / 1.8.
- Wide-angle (main) 12MP, 26mm f / 1.5.
1.9 pixels and 1 / 1.65 “main camera sensor in the 13 Pro and Pro Max provide 44mm2 surface area, which can capture 84% more light than the 1 / 2.55” sensor in 12 Pro, and 25% more than the 1 / 1.9-inch sensor 12 Pro Max (and, accordingly, 13 and 13 Mini sensors). The lens has increased its maximum aperture from f / 1.6 to f / 1.5, allowing it to capture 14% more light.
This combination of lens and sensor also allows for a slight blur of the optical background without using Portrait mode, which creates bokeh using software methods.
Photographic styles
All new iPhones have a new feature – Photographic styles. With this feature, you can customize the look of your photos by customizing individual parameters to your liking, and the camera will take all photos according to your settings.
But this is not just a regular filter that is applied to ready-made images. Instead, a special algorithm for processing and combining several frames (multiple exposures) is used to create a single shot with local changes for different layers.
You can choose from Strong Contrast, Vivid, Warm or Cool, plus additional adjustments to Hue and Warmth. Fine-tune allows you to select, for example, a “Cool” style while maintaining warm skin tones.
Video
The main feature of the new models in terms of video is in Cinematic mode. It is available for the entire line. It resembles Portrait mode in photography but is applied to video — the subject is automatically distinguished from its surroundings and the background is softly blurred.
Smartphones can’t physically create bokeh, which is one of the reasons many people still prefer to use cheap traditional cameras to shoot video.
All new iPhones have great cameras and some cool features that make them cool and convenient devices for taking photos and videos. To find both models just visit the Mobile Phones Direct website.
