The Three-Piece Suit. It is Still in Trend!

The Three-Piece Suit. It is Still in Trend!

Today we will not tell you about any secrets, only offer pure practice in style. In what cases is a vest with a suit appropriate, is it not old-fashioned, is it possible to choose one of the parts of a three-piece suit of a different colour and which one? Let’s try to answer all these questions and a few more, in this article.

Is the three-piece suit still in trend?

First and foremost: such a suit hasn’t gone out of style. This is not a business suit worn today only at royal receptions and horse races. The vest makes the suit more integral, collected, solid. Moreover, with the right fit, the vest will flatter your figure by removing attention from your belly. But there is another side. The three-piece suit is formal enough and requires an excuse to wear it.

This occasion is not necessarily a gala concert or receiving an award, it can also be an ordinary business meeting, just the one that is more significant than others. In this case, a three-piece suit will be perfect, accompanied by a tie and pocket square. If the fabric of the suit is monochromatic, then it is better to choose brighter accessories, if in a noticeable pattern – more modest. Also, there is another way to wear a three-piece: without a tie and with a shirt unbuttoned by one or even two buttons. To take advantage of this solution, you need remarkable daring and, most importantly, a good body shape. And yet, remember that such a macho look is not for a strict business atmosphere.

Some other combinations

Another good combo is a three-piece with a vest of a different colour. A deliberately failed decision is to take a vest from a similar suit, for example, a light blue or dark grey vest to a dark blue suit. If you are going to pick an outstanding detail, then let it be really bright – for example, a purple check vest on a grey background to a solid grey suit. White and cream vests today are only suitable for weddings and special occasions and are worn mainly with plastrons, in a business style, they look dubious. You can also combine paired vest and trousers with an unpaired jacket – in this case, you can choose one of the fabrics with a pattern, and the other is better to leave the plain colour.

For advanced users, we recommend combining items from three different fabrics: for example, a plain jacket and chinos of different colours and a plaid vest that will combine both of these shades. Another option is striped trousers, a plain blazer, and a plain vest. Jeans are also suitable, combined with a light textured vest and jacket in a noticeable pattern. All these combinations are not easy to match and inappropriate in a strict dress code, but certainly beautiful. Do not overload such an image with accessories, otherwise, it will lose its easiness, without which any bold visual solution becomes pretentious.

Well, it’s obvious now that the three-piece suits may be worn in different ways. To get this beautiful piece visit the Hawes & Curtis website.
