The Latest Interface Upgrade – Samsung OneUI 4.1. Let’s See What It’s Got?

Traditionally, Samsung, along with the release of a new generation of S22 flagships, updated the OneUI version, now it is OneUI 4.1, and this version is available for many previous models. Gradually, the update rolls out to all devices. Inside, the same Android 12. There are many changes, each of them individually small and insignificant, but together they create a wide range of opportunities. Not the fact that it is you who need all these new chips but perhaps something will come in handy.

Samsung One UI 4.1 Interface Overview

Camera. Portrait mode is available for both the main camera module and telephoto. An optional telephoto module is also available in a professional mode for photos and videos. When shooting a video, you can save video from the main and front cameras, and during playback, switch between different views: include a picture in a picture or split the screen into two parts.

Gallery. Many of the changes are directly related to computational photography and the effects you can apply to your shots. For example, in automatic mode, images can be improved – sharpening for blurry faces is increased, and the algorithm removes wrinkles and skin roughness, but without aggressive image processing. When viewing a photo, you need to select the “Improve image” item, and you will be offered a new option, and on the screen, using the slider, you can move between the picture before and after, that is, you see how and what has changed, everything is very clear.

The other option is “Add Portrait Effect” which blurs the background of the person shot, you can adjust the blur level. You don’t have to shoot people’s faces in Portrait mode to achieve this effect, it’s now easy to do in the gallery.

Additional decorative elements for your emoji stickers. Create your own unique style by adding GIFs from Tenor as decorative elements for your personal selfie emoji stickers.

Additional options for selfie doodles. Create 3D stickers by scanning real objects and then add them to your selfie doodles. You can also add GIF files from Tenor and Giphy.

Smart widgets on the home screen. There is a new set of smart widgets that combine several different applications and notifications, you can scroll through them, or they can change their content themselves. For example, such a widget shows the weather in the morning, and then automatically switches to a calendar and a list of upcoming tasks.

Samsung Notes. If you use both a Samsung smartphone and tablet, you can bring the S Pen control panel to the smartphone screen when drawing or writing on a tablet with OneUI 4.1 or higher. A handy thing that allows you to remove everything that can interfere with the second screen.

Bixby scenarios. Now you can execute scripts during calls, receive notifications, and set additional conditions. Scenarios have become even more powerful and interesting, there is where to roam.

SmartThings Find. You can ask other people to use their smartphones to search for your devices in their vicinity, send a request to find a smartphone and they will search for it for you. Relevant for those who often lose their devices and do not remember where they left them. The person will hear the smartphone beep and be able to pick it up for you.

The system proved to be stable, and no problems in use were noticed. There is nothing to complain about here, from the new functions I will note innovations in the photo editor and gallery, it has become more convenient to work with photos. We’ve covered only a few things, the update is really huge. It’s better to experience it yourself. Visit the Samsung website and get your latest device with the updated system.
