Samsung Galaxy A33 5G. Pure Power With No Extra Costs
Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is a new model in the line of mid-range smart phones. This is one of the most interesting Samsung phones and has been greatly improved over the Galaxy A32. Let’s see why.
Design and appearance
The camera module smoothly transitions into a matte back cover, and the available body colors are well chosen especially peach. You can also take the black, white or blue version. The main improvement over the previous model is IP67 water and dust resistance. Probably because of this, there was no 3.5 mm headphone jack. The front camera is located in a U-shaped cutout at the top of the screen, and above it, you can see a tiny speaker grille. The ambient light sensor is also installed here, but the proximity sensor of the Galaxy A33 5G is virtual, but it works well. The fingerprint scanner is located under the display, at the bottom.
Smartphone’s screen
The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the refresh rate is 90Hz. The screen is good, but when viewing content, the large cutout of the front camera interferes. The brightness is quite high, in manual mode, it reaches 410 nits, and in the Adaptive setting – 730 nits. The minimum brightness drops to 1.8 nits.
Galaxy A33 5G cameras
The main sensor has optical stabilization and support for 4K video, the front camera can also shoot in 4K quality. There are four lenses on the back of the smartphone: a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Software
Compared to flagships, some features are missing here. One of the main advantages of Samsung phones is long software support, and the A33 is no exception. Smartphone owners can expect four years of OS updates and five years of security updates.
One UI remains one of the best Android skins out there, and the changes over the years have mostly been in the UI.
Interaction with other devices is well implemented – for example, you can broadcast the contents of the screen to another device. The Link to Windows feature makes it easy to share images with your computer, respond to notifications, and make calls.
Component performance
The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G uses Samsung’s new Exynos 1280 as its processor. It is much more powerful than the Helio G80 in the A32 and the Dimensity 720 in the A32 5G, so you can count on performance gains. The Exynos 1280 is manufactured using Samsung’s 5nm process technology and runs on eight cores: two “large” Cortex-A78 clocked at up to 2.4 GHz and six “small” Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz. Mali-G68 acts as a graphics accelerator.
Sound quality
The combination is standard: the main speaker on the bottom side of the case and an additional speaker above the display. There are minor problems with balance: the speaker sounds quieter, and there is less bass, but when watching a video, this is almost imperceptible. The volume is high, the quality is acceptable, the sound is rich and saturated, and the bass is audible even without headphones.
Battery autonomy
With battery life, too, everything is fine: autonomy is 14 hours of web surfing or 18 hours of video playback. If you use a Samsung 25W adapter, the Galaxy A33 5G charges 50% in half an hour, and 100% in 1 hour and 15 minutes. There is no support for wireless charging here.
The smart phone attracts with its design and OLED display, even if the refresh rate of the panel does not exceed 90 Hz. In addition, there are stereo speakers with high volume and excellent sound quality, which was lacking in the Galaxy A-line.
