Men’s Trunks and Boxers. What are the Reasons to Consider This Type of Underwear?
No doubt, men’s underpants are not the thing that is constantly in sight, but! This does not mean at all that a certain style is not inherent in this product, which is reflected primarily in comfort. It is useless to advise anything here, everyone chooses the appropriate model depending on personal preferences, features of the figure, degree of comfort, and, of course, appearance. We can only briefly talk about which models of men’s underpants you can pay attention to and how to choose the right ones.
Boxers
If you’re looking for comfortable men’s underwear, you’ll almost certainly find boxers. This is a popular choice for most guys because boxers provide more freedom than their counterparts, and the material allows the skin to breathe, which in turn creates a more comfortable environment for the body.
However, keep in mind that while boxers provide a pleasant breeze, this type of underwear doesn’t offer the support you might need. By the way, there are two types of boxers:
- Slim Fit. More fitted but still roomier than briefs.
- Casual Fit. The most comfortable boxers with a loose fit that are comfortable to sleep in (they are also called family briefs).
Trunks
Trunks are similar in design to boxers but are as tight as briefs and are one of the most popular types of briefs. However, because of the waistband that sits just above the hips (but lower than high-rise briefs), this style can accentuate the belly, so if you don’t feel like that, then look into some other type of lingerie. Fits vary – there are regular fit models and low waisted models that are gaining more and more popularity these days. Be careful, these shorts fit well on a thin figure.
What fabrics are men’s underpants made from?
So, we figured out the types of underpants, but what your underwear is made of is no less important than its shape. Below are the basic materials and a description of their features.
Cotton. Men’s cotton underwear is soft to the touch and allows the skin to breathe. Standard underpants are usually made from either 100% cotton or blends with other materials.
Many men’s cotton underpants have a waistband made from an elastic material such as elastane. Note that cotton absorbs moisture easily, so it’s probably not the best fabric for sports.
Polyester. It is a good stretchy material that provides great flexibility. In addition, it is a thin, moisture-wicking fabric, which means it has a cooling effect.
Modal. A semi-synthetic viscose fiber that offers less support than cotton yet feels like silk and is an environmentally friendly fabric.
Nylon. Nylon is also similar to silk but may be less friendly to sensitive skin. However, like polyester, nylon is strong and stretchy, making it a good fit for the gym.
Silk. Oooh, it’s luxurious, nice on the body, and sexy. But damn, it’s slippery. So definitely not the best option for everyday wear. Rather, for a special occasion.
