Design and outlook

We have to give credit to Samsung – the company tried to make the tablet as thin as possible. The thickness of the case is only 5.5 mm, which is much less than the above models of competitors. The weight for such dimensions is also relatively small: 726 grams for the version with Wi-Fi and 728 grams for 5G.
There is only one colour – graphite. The back is made of aluminium, there is a small Samsung logo, a dual-camera module, and a black strip to which the S Pen stylus is magnetized. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
At the top of the screen, in the middle, there is a cut-out for the two front cameras, this is an unusual design decision by Samsung. Although the company removed the cut-out of the front cameras from its smart phones, it decided to leave it here – it seems that two sensors did not fit on the top frame. I am glad that the notch is not too large, so it does not interfere while watching content.

The device is uncomfortable to hold in your hands, but a lot of content is placed on the screen. The 16:10 aspect ratio is more suitable for watching movies and TV shows than for multitasking.

The response time is so short that it feels like writing with a pen on paper, and not on the screen of an electronic device. There is only one key on the stylus, but Air Actions gestures allow you to perform many additional actions.
Software
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra runs on the Android 12 operating system with the One UI 4.1 shell from Samsung.
This facilitates interaction with other company devices. You can easily share your screen or transfer files from smart phones or laptops and quickly connect your Samsung Wireless Headphones.
In addition, the system supports DeX mode, so the interface is the same as on familiar PCs.
You can easily open multiple windows at the same time or use the mouse and keyboard. In this form, the Tab S8 Ultra is really not inferior to laptops.
