Don’t Know Where to Go With the Kids? Visit Tenerife!
The most common category of hotels in Tenerife is 4 stars, but regardless of the star rating, the level of service is very high. The territory of hotels is usually small, but there is usually a place for a playground and a swimming pool.
In most cases, there is a pedestrian zone between the beaches and hotels. Due to the fact that flat coastlines alternate with steep ones, the hotel can stand right on the ocean shore, but rather far from the well-maintained beach. Another feature of the island’s resorts is that hotels can be located on a hill, and you will have to go down to the beach by stairs. The places offer different types of food, including all-inclusive, but there is no need to be tied to the food in the hotel. Off-site restaurants and cafes usually offer a good children’s menu. Las Americas
Las Americas is the unofficial capital of the south coast of Tenerife. The resorts of Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje are close to Las Americas. Long loose beaches with fine sand, a large number of hotels and apartments, convenience stores, many entertainments for children – all these advantages of the resort determine its main disadvantage: it is always crowded and noisy. Most children’s beach is Playa La Pinta, where inflatable water slides are installed right on the shore, and children splash in the shallow water, like in a paddling pool. Quiet relaxation is also provided on the beaches of Playa San Eugenio in the centre of the resort and Playa de Fañabé, 3 km from the centre.
Los Cristianos
Los Cristianos is called the best resort for families. The resort is adjacent to Las Americas from the south. There are two beaches in the city. Both are covered with fine golden sand and are protected from the waves. Playa de Los Cristianos is suitable for families with children of all ages. There is also a playground, a volleyball field, and water activities. Playa Las Vistas, which stretches all the way to Las Americas, is considered the centre of youth recreation. However, during the day, the whole family can have a great time there.
Costa Adeje
Costa Adeje is the northern neighbour of Las Americas, a quiet town for families with children. Playa Torviscas is the best equipped for families with children, while Playa del Duque is considered the most luxurious beach in the south. The main advantages of the resort are the cleanliness of the coast and two large water parks nearby.
Puerto de la Cruz
Puerto de la Cruz is a resort on the northern coast of Tenerife. It is worth choosing if you plan on traveling more than swimming. However, tourists do not stay without swimming: there are swimming pools with seawater on the embankment.
