Classic Women’s Shirt. How to Implement It Into the Daily Wardrobe?
The classic women’s shirt is a blouse of a free classic cut, created like a men’s shirt, which is worn outside. This style appeared in the fifties of the last century, it has a retro character and remains popular today. Let’s see this garment in more detail.
Classic woman’s shirt
The variety of models of women’s shirts provides modern women with a wide range of choices. As a rule, their sleeves are set-in, with or without cuffs, long or short, there is a double-sided fold in the centre of the back, and on some models, the folds can also be placed in the front. The collar of such a piece is a stand-up turn-down, in front it is fastened with buttons, like an ordinary men’s shirt. The clasp can be an open type or hidden under the strap, it can be the entire length of the shirt or only up to the middle.
Unlike a men’s shirt, a women’s model can have many pockets and fasteners, or a belt. Women’s shirts are sewn from soft materials – flax, corduroy, fine wool and even denim. The colour scheme is varied – they can be either monochromatic or of a wide variety of colours, with embroidery on the collar, cuffs and hem look quite original. Such a shirt is versatile, it is perfect both as clothes for every day and as an outfit for going out.
Who fits best for such a garment?
Classic shirts are suitable for conservative women, for whom simplicity, elegance, and minimalism in clothes play an important role, which allows them to feel both elegant and comfortable in any setting. Such a style is universal and suitable for all women, however, some rules should still be followed when choosing it. For example, thin girls should pay attention to the colouring in the form of a large pattern – a strip, abstract motifs, they will visually make the figure a little more voluminous. If you have a triangle shape, it is better to choose models with shoulder pads in order to slightly increase the shoulder line and make the figure more proportional. If, on the contrary, your figure is an Inverted triangle, then you should give preference to free models that add volume to the hips. The same can be said about the apple shape: the protruding belly and the absence of a waist are very well hidden under a loose shirt, and they should be worn without a belt. Women with curvaceous forms are better off choosing a medium-sized drawing. Take a closer look at the vertical stripe: it visually stretches the silhouette, making it slimmer.
What to wear with the classic shirt?
A classic women’s shirt goes well with tight trousers, jeans, leggings, and its elongated version can be worn even with tight tights. Plus, it can be worn with almost any form-fitting skirt. Bulky skirts such as a tulip skirt or balloon skirt are not the best companions for a classic shirt. You can complement such an outfit with a short vest, large retro-style glasses, and a large bag.
