Body Shape “Pear”. How to Emphasize the Dignity of Such Figure?
Wearing the right clothes works wonders. Following the tips in this article, figure flaws will turn into advantages. Read, use and be proud of your features.
First, learn what should be avoided
Don’t try to fit your curvy shapes into straight lines. Bulky clothes falling off your shoulders will not hide extra pounds, instead, your figure will look shapeless and much bulkier than it really is.
Stick to this rule: spectacular top, inconspicuous bottom.
An alternative is clothing in natural shades that visually narrow the silhouette, such as a fitted dress, or tailored cardigan and trousers. This look will be complemented by a loose-fitting knee-length coat, left unbuttoned. Don’t be afraid to create a look with a coat of bright colour or rich texture.
Pear-shaped women should not squeeze the waist. Instead, try raising your waistline higher, which visually lengthens your legs and flattens the silhouette, or lower it lower. Loose cardigans, which are fastened above the waistline, and an open pair of buttons at the top, will visually raise the waistline.
A boxy shirt worn over a T-shirt has the same effect. A belt that loosely wraps around (not pinching) the upper thighs, visually lowers the waistline, and a slight slouch will balance your proportions.
A common mistake of completing the image, in this case, is the increase in the shoulders. Big shoulders are not the best option. Shoulder pads that increase your shoulders give a messy look. Your natural shoulder line, strongly accentuated, looks better.
So, what to do?
For wide hips, a skirt with a low waist and a massive belt are suitable. If the belt buckle gets the attention of those around them, they will forget about the shortcomings below.
A lowered neckline or a gathered shoulder strap will increase the volume of the top, making the waist appear thinner.
Clothes that perfectly hide bulky hips – a jacket with long sleeves, gathered at the waist, therefore not massive, worn over a straight cut of trousers or a skirt of flowing fabric, with high heels. Small bell-bottomed trousers that cover the shoes, or a light A-line skirt will balance full thighs. The clothes should fit snugly, not hug your body. Wearing high heels under trousers will enhance the slimming effect.
The classic three-quarter jacket alternative just above your knees is, frankly, outdated. A good solution would be a wrap-around jacket (it will not tighten the waist) that goes down to the length of the hips. Non-classic style cardigans or short jackets are the perfect choices for every day. A structured jacket will also work great, but it is often best to leave it unbuttoned.
Another great combination is a tight-fitting top (tunic style) and straight-leg trousers. Make sure your pants are free of wrinkles and cuffs.
Flapless pockets and non-crease trousers look great on anyone. But beware: large patch pockets add punchiness too. The only place they look great is in jeans.
Try, experiment, combine colours and textures, but do not forget about the tips. Create your image correctly. In order to find all the necessary and described garments just visit the FatFace website.
