Windbreakers For Kids. Practical and Trendy
The wardrobe of an active child aged 3 to 8 years can hardly do without a windbreaker. Lightweight, practical and does not take up much space in a bag or backpack, the thing perfectly copes with its main task – protection from wind and coolness. Having appeared exclusively as jackets made of dense fabric, over time, windbreakers have changed quite a lot: now they call so denim jackets and sports models. Read the following article made by our fashion team, to know more about this garment and how to choose a proper one.
Start with the materials
Models made of natural fabrics – linen, cotton – with a slight addition of synthetics. Not suitable for rainy weather, as they get wet quickly. The beauty of natural fabrics is in their environmental friendliness, hypo allergenicity, and hygroscopicity. Such a windbreaker will not allow the child to sweat a lot, as cotton quickly wicks moisture away from the body. And a small percentage of elastane or polyester threads makes it easier to care for the garment: it does not deform when washed in a machine, is not afraid of twisting and spinning.
Blended windbreakers consist of 60% polyamide, the rest cotton. They are impregnated from moisture, well maintain normal thermoregulation of the body, they are worn for a long time due to the high strength of the threads.
Windbreakers made of natural fabrics impregnated with polyamide, polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane. Impregnation with synthetic material increases the strength of the fabric, making the windbreaker durable, but prevents normal air exchange, so these models are suitable only for a short stay of a child in them.
Polyester windbreakers are moisture repellent and therefore ideal for rainy weather. They do not let the wind through, retaining the warmth of the child’s body, dry quickly after washing or getting wet, and retain their shape well even after being machine-spined at maximum speed.
What else to pay attention to?
When choosing a windbreaker, study its cut and design. So, for autumn and spring, when it often rains, it is better to choose a model with a hood so that you do not have to worry about whether the child will get sick.
For cool summer evenings, you can take a windbreaker without a hood, in a sporty style. It goes well with jeans and sweatpants, elongated shorts.
An important condition for a windbreaker to be called good is the presence of soft and wide enough cuffs, especially when it comes to things for a preschool child. These cuffs will prevent the sleeves from pulling up, which means they will additionally protect you from the cool air. The same goes for the waist: a wide elastic band that does not press on the skin is a guarantee that your child does not freeze.
In addition to the above, we also advise you to pay attention to fittings: locks, rivets. Responsible manufacturers use plastic zippers in clothes for the little ones – they are safer, do not scratch the skin, do not heat up in the sun, or cool down as much as metal products.
A stylish, fashionable windbreaker will serve your child for a long time, it will come in handy both in spring and autumn. On the FatFace website, you will surely find something that will appeal to both you and the young fashionista.
