Nokia G21 – A Powerful Android That Won’t Hit Your Wallet

Nokia G21 – A Powerful Android That Won’t Hit Your Wallet

The sequel to last year’s Nokia G20 smartphone is released with significant improvements in battery life, screen, and camera. The Nokia G21 will provide three days of work on a single charge with a 5050 mAh battery. Nokia has improved the power saving mode, which has significantly improved the battery life. Also, we’ll see the system and camera improvements and many other interesting details that worth attention. So, keep reading to know altogether.

Although Nokia has increased the maximum charging speed by supporting 18W chargers (USB PD 3.0 compliant), the phone comes with a 10W adapter.

Another improvement is that Nokia has managed to make the phone 5% thinner by reducing the thickness from 9.2mm to 8.5mm.

The second major upgrade of the G21 is the high refresh rate display – a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display that runs at up to 90Hz refresh rate, a first for the budget G series. Keep in mind that if you want 3-day battery life, you’ll have to use the adaptive display mode so it can drop to 60Hz to save battery when 90Hz isn’t needed.

Nokia G21 camera specs

The next thing we would like to talk about is the camera. The smartphone is equipped with a new 50-megapixel main camera sensor (G20 had a 48-megapixel sensor). Nokia hasn’t paid much attention to detail regarding lens and sensor aperture sizes, instead focusing on the Super Resolution feature, which enhances photo detail. There’s a pretty good night mode, which is great, but where did the 5MP ultra-wide camera that was in the G20 go? We were left with only the main module and two useless 2-megapixel macro lenses and depth sensors. The 5-megapixel ultra-wide wasn’t the best, but it’s better than nothing.

In the inside

The Nokia G21 received a noticeably more powerful chipset than its predecessor, the Unisoc T606. This 12nm chip has two Cortex-A75 cores and six A55 cores, which is a significant improvement over the Helio G35 which had eight A53 cores. The GPU is also more powerful and productive, this is the Mali G57 MP1.

Support for 5G networks has not appeared, the G series still supports 3G and LTE levels. The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The phone has a triple slot and supports the simultaneous operation of two SIM cards and a microSD card.

As part of Nokia’s announced software support schedule, the smartphone will receive two major OS updates (Android 12 and 13) and three years of security updates. As before, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone also comes with an improved face unlock feature that can recognize you with or without a mask.

Well, that’s it. We hope this information was interesting and useful. As you can see this smartphone is not something unique, however if you appreciate long battery life, good camera and have tight budget Nokia G21 is a good option.
